To clarify that: The OP asked what one hour of GW2 consumes and the answer based on what I wrote is: Something between 20 MB (solo open world) and 1GB (joining a zerg in WvW or world event in PvE). And since this is a huge variance the conclusion is, that there is not simple answer to that question.
Not much. Once you have a good enough graphics card, 1080p vs 1440 doesn't matter that much with Guildwars. The CPU is the bottleneck. You need at least 4 cores (guildwars takes 1-2 and the rest of the OS can be on the other 2+), but after that they don't mean anything. Single core speed is the most important thing.
I have been playing since launch but i never really used task manager to check how much resources the game was using till now. I just did. Its using 10,000 MB of ram. I have only 16 GB of ram and with my web browser open and listening to Spotify, along with all the other background processes almost 97% of my ram is being used.

If you close it and booted it up again, it would show 0% - but that's 0% of the remaining 9GB to be downloaded.

That is around 35% if I remember correctly. Once the status changes to "playable" you can play the starting zone of your race with no issues.
