In their infinite wisdom, Mazda made the two filters look exactly the same, have the same dimensions and thread size, and then gave them nearly identical part numbers: 1WPE-14-302 for non-turbo; 1WPY-14-302 for turbo. (There are three Mazda filters for the non-turbo, so there may be more than one for turbo. I haven't checked.)

Dec 19, 2021. #7. From what I've read it appears the oil level can be at full for the first 3k miles, then shortly after it drops off rather quickly. Oil consumption seems to average .5-1.0qt. It's not unusually high for a modern engine by today's standards. They did acknowledge it though as an issue through the TSB.
